Alex Mack Willing To Give The Browns An Opportunity To Match Offers

Browns C Alex Mack told reporters last week that he is “absolutely” willing to give the team an opportunity to match the offers he receives on the open market in the coming months.

“Being in Cleveland is nice,” Mack said, the Cleveland Plain-Dealer. “I have good friends on the team, I like the coaches, it’s a nice place.”

Mack would not, however, offer any specifics as to whether or not he prefers to shop himself around.

While there will be some good options at center in the free agent market, Mack is without a doubt the best available player at the position. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 1 center in the league this season.

Cleveland will have plenty of cap space to work with this offseason and it would really make sense for them to try to get an extension completed before March.
