San Francisco 49ers running back Anthony Dixon will face “stiff competition” for a spot on the team’s 53-man roster, CSN Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco opines.
Dixon’s spot on the roster was up in the air even before the 49ers went out and signed former New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs in free agency and drafted Oregon’s LaMichael James in the second round.
Dixon was the third-string tailback on San Francisco’s depth chart in 2011, behind Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter. To say Dixon is at risk is an understatement.
