Antonio Brown To Rejoin Raiders In Near Future, Foot Injury ‘Non-Issue’ Moving Forward

Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Antonio Brown is expected to rejoin the Raiders in the near future.

Brown has missed 10 of the team’s last 11 practice sessions, due to a foot issue he’s been dealing with.

A recent report from Chase Williams of WPXI Pittsburgh mentioned that Brown has gone “radio silent” and Oakland has “zero clue where he is or what the progress of the foot injury is.

However, Gehlken says that this isn’t the case and based on conversations he’s had, the report doesn’t reflect the thinking of those inside the Raiders organization.

According to Gehlken, Brown’s foot issue is largely considered a “non-issue” moving forward.

Reports have said that Brown’s foot injury is related to frostbite he sustained after not wearing the proper protective material in a cryotherapy machine.

Brown, 31, is a former sixth-round pick of the Steelers back in 2010. He was in the third year of his five-year, $72.71 million contract when the Steelers traded him to the Raiders back in March.

The Raiders later signed Brown to a new contract worth $50.125 million and includes $30.125 million guaranteed.

In 2018, Brown appeared in 15 games for the Steelers and caught 104 passes for 1,297 yards and 15 touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 26 receiver out of 117 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Brown as the news is available.
