Bashaud Breeland Interested In Re-Signing With Packers

Packers CB Bashaud Breeland says he’s interested in re-signing with Green Bay after the season. However, he isn’t aware of any negotiations taking place between his agent and the Packers.

“If I have the opportunity, I would,” Breeland said, via PackersNews.com. “At this point in time, the Green Bay Packers have first dibs because I’m here. They can make it happen at any moment. But I’m not really worried about what the future holds right now. I’m living in the moment. I’m just having fun.

Packers standout CB Jaire Alexander says he’s “built a good connection” with Breeland since he arrived in Green Bay and would like to see him back next year.

“I need him back,” Alexander said. “We’ve built a good connection.

Breeland, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Redskins back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.706 million contract and made a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season.

Back in March, Breeland and the Panthers agreed to a three-year, $24 million deal that includes $11 million guaranteed and $9.5 million fully guaranteed. However, he later failed a physical due to a foot injury and it took until September for him to agree to a one-year contract with the Packers.

Breeland will be an unrestricted free agent in 2019.

In 2018, Breeland has appeared in four games for the Packers and recorded 14 tackles, two interceptions with one being returned for a touchdown, a fumble recovery and three pass defenses. He has also totaled 62 kick return yards.
