Bears Re-Sign FB Tony Fiammetta, Add QB David Fales To Practice Squad

The Chicago Bears announced Monday that they have re-signed FB Tony Fiammetta and added rookie QB David Fales to their practice squad.

Both players were cut loose late last week as the Bears added a few receivers to their active roster. Fales passed through waivers unclaimed on Monday, so there was a strong possibility that he would end up on their practice squad some time soon.

Chicago used a sixth-round pick on Fales a few months ago and have said publicly that they look forward to developing him in the coming years.

Fiammetta, 28, is a former fourth-round selection of the Panthers. He had brief stints with the Patriots and Cowboys before signing with the Bears in June of last year. Chicago signed him to a two-year contract last December.

In 2013, Fiammetta appeared in all 16 games and caught four passes for 57 yards receiving.
