ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Chicago Bears reached an agreement with former Saints DT Sedrick Ellis on a one-year contract.
Ellis, 27, found very little interest throughout free agency. He visited with the Bears and Lions last week, but it’s hard to imagine Chicago guaranteeing him a roster spot.
Ellis has been one of the more notable first-round busts since being drafted by the Saints back in 2008. It seems likely that the Bears will use him as an additional run stopper, but he’ll have show considerable improvement to make their final roster.
