The Bears have waived TE Eric Saubert to clear space on the roster for K Cairo Santos, per Brad Biggs.
Santos will stay on the active roster instead of going back down to the practice squad.
Saubert, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Falcons back in 2017. He was in the third year of his four-year, $2.62 million contract and set to make base salaries of $645,000 and $735,000 over the final two years of the agreement when the Falcons traded him to the Patriots during the preseason in 2019.
New England waived him coming out of the preseason and Saubert caught on with the Raiders practice squad. Chicago signed him to the active roster later in the season.
For his career, Saubert has caught seven passes for 69 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
