The Chicago Bears officially placed WR Mekale McKay on waivers Friday and signed DE Nicholas Williams to a contract.
McKay, 24, originally signed on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati back in 2016. He lasted just a few months with the Colts before he was waived at the start of the 2016 season and later signed to the Jaguars’ practice squad.
McKay had brief stints with the Broncos and Titans before the Bears added him to their taxi squad last December and brought him back on a futures deal.
During his college career at Arkansas and Cincinnati, McKay caught 108 passes for 2,034 yards receiving and 19 touchdowns over the course of four seasons and 45 games played.
McKay has yet to appear in an NFL game.
