Bears WR Javon Wims Suspended Two Games

The NFL announced Monday that Bears WR Javon Wims has been suspended two games for his actions in Sunday’s game against the Saints in which he attacked and punched DB Chauncey Gardner-Johnson.

Wims claimed after the game that Gardner-Johnson spit on him, which ultimately led to him attacking Gardner-Johnson later on in the game.

Wims, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the Bears out of Georgia back in 2018. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2.55 million contract.

In 2020, Wims has appeared in eight games for the Bears and caught five passes for 35 yards receiving and one touchdown.
