The latest news on rookie running back Ben Tate’s lower leg injury that he suffered yesterday in his first preseason game comes from John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. He reports that Tate suffered a broken ankle on 12-yard run in the third quarter of yesterday’s game. X-rays confirmed the injury after he was helped off of the field.
This is definitely a loss for the Texans but one that they should be able to overcome to some extent. They will miss Tate’s size more than anything but Adrian Foster looked good as a starter and the team still has Steve Slaton to add to their running back tandem.
