Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Bengals have claimed QB Brad Kaaya off of waivers from the Colts on Monday.
Kaaya, 23, is a former fifth-round pick of the Lions back in 2017. Detroit elected to waive him coming out of the preseason and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Panthers.
Carolina elected to cut Kaaya loose towards the end of the 2017 season and he was once again claimed off of waivers, this time by the Lions. The Colts would later signed him off of the Lions’ practice squad before waiving him with an injury designation last summer.
Kaaya later reverted to the Colts’ injured reserve list after clearing waivers but was cut loose last week.
During his college career, Kaaya has thrown for 9,968 yards while completing 60.6 percent of his passes to go along with 69 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. He’s posted a passer rating of 146.2 during his three years at Miami.
