Geoff Hobson of the Bengals.com reports that Cincinnati has claimed WR Jasper Collins off of waviers from the Steelers on Thursday.
Collins, 22, signed with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Mount Union following the 2013 NFL Draft. He would later sign to the Browns practice squad before eventually signing a reserve/future contract with Pittsburgh in December.
The Bengals have some solid options at the top of their receiver depth chart with A.J. Green, Mohamed Sanu and Marvin Jones. Beyond them, Dane Sanzenbacher, Brandon Tate, Ryan Whalen and James Wright figure to compete for the team’s final roster spots, which means Collins best hope of remaining in Cincinnati could be on the team’s practice squad.
