Bengals Exercise Fifth-Year Option For CB William Jackson

The Bengals announced Wednesday they have exercised the fifth-year option for CB William Jackson

Jackson has developed into one of the better young cornerbacks in the league, so this isn’t a surprise.

It’s worth mentioning the fifth-year option is guaranteed for injury only until the first day of the 2020 league year. It also won’t prevent the two parties from working on an extension in the next year or so.

Jackson, 26, was selected in the first round of the 2016 draft by the Bengals out of Houston. He signed a four-year deal worth $9.7 million.

In 2018, Jackson played in all 16 games for the Bengals, recording 41 total tackles, no interceptions and 13 pass defenses.
