According to Adam Schefter, Rams QB coach Zac Taylor is expected to fly to Cincinnati on Monday and introduced as the Bengalsโ next head coach.
It’s been clear for weeks now that Taylor was going to get the Bengals’ job, but Cincinnati was forced to wait until after the Rams’ season had come to end before making anything official.
In total, the Bengals interviewed eight candidates for the job including:
- Hue Jackson
- Rams QBs coach Zac Taylor
- Rams pass-game coordinator/TEs coach Shane Waldron
- Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy
- Former Broncos HC Vance Joseph
- Buccaneers OC Todd Monken
- Bengals STs coordinator Darrin Simmons
- Bengals OC Bill Lazor
Taylor, 35, began his coaching career at Texas A&M back in 2008 as a graduate assistant. He was later hired by the Dolphins as their assistant QBs coach in 2012 and worked his way up to offensive coordinator.
The University of Cincinnati hired Taylor as their QBs coach/offensive coordinator for the 2016 season and he later joined the Rams as their assistant WRs coach in 2017. Taylor was promoted to QBs coach a year ago.
