The Cincinnati Bengals announced Saturday that they’ve placed TE Drew Sample on injured reserve and promoted S Trayvon Henderson to their active roster.
Sample suffered a high ankle sprain last month and there was talk that he could be headed to injured reserve so this isn’t a big surprise.
Sample, 23, was drafted in the second round by the Bengals out of Washington in the 2019 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year rookie deal worth $5.5 million.
In 2019, Sample has appeared in nine games for the Bengals and caught five passes for 30 yards.
