The Cincinnati Bengals announced Friday that they’ve promoted LB P.J. Dawson to their active roster.

Dawson, 23, was taken in the third-round of last year’s draft with the No. 99 overall pick. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2.896 million contract and was set to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season when the Bengals elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.
After clearing waivers, the Bengals signed him to their practice squad.
In 2015, Dawson appeared in 11 games for the Bengals and recorded 12 tackles and a pass defense.
