Ian Rapoport reports that the Bengals are re-signing TE Tyler Eifert to a one-year contract on Saturday.
This marks the second straight year Eifert has returned to the Bengals on a one-year, prove-it contract.
Eifert was among the best available tight ends in the free agency market, but injuries have prevented him from securing a multi-year deal.
Eifert, 28, is a first-round pick of the Bengals back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $8.256 million contract and finished the 2017 season under the fifth-year option.
The Bengals brought Eifert back on a one-year contract last offseason and was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent. He landed on the injured reserve last season due to a broken ankle.
In 2018, Eifert appeared in four games for the Bengals and caught 15 passes for 179 yards receiving and one touchdown.
We had him featured in our Top 100 Available Free Agents list.
