Hobson mentions the Bengals would Mays to return as theirย nickel linebacker to replace the Emmanuel Lamur, who signed with the Vikings last week.

It’s worth mentioning that Mays could be suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season for violating an NFL policy. However, it appears as though his potential ban hasn’t prevented the Bengals from possibly bringing him back for another year.

After four years with the Bengals, Mays signed a one-year contract with the Raiders last year and is now testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2015, Mays appeared in 14 games and recorded 26 tackles and five pass defenses for the Raiders.ย Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 63 safetyย out of 88 qualifying players.
