Tyler Dragon of the Enquirer is reporting that the Bengals are waiving LB Preston Brown on Tuesday.
Brown, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Bills back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $3,005,750 before agreeing to a one-year contract with the Bengals last year.
Brown was once again testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason when he agreed to a three-year contract worth up to $21 million with Cincinnati. Brown was set to make base salaries of $3.25 million and $4.15 million over the final two years of the agreement.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Brown will free up $5,050,000 of available cap space while creating $833,333 in dead money.
In 2019, Brown has appeared in nine games for the Bengals and recorded 53 tackles, no sacks, a forced fumble and a recovery. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 78 linebacker out of 85 qualifying players.
