Jerry DiPaola of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review is reporting that Bill Cowher has suggested that he may return to the NFL sidelines for the 2011 season.
Cowher indicated that he isn’t willing to take on any job just because its available. “I am not going to go back into coaching, just to go back into coaching,” Cowher said. “It has to be the right situation. And I don’t know what the right situation consists of.”
There would be a number of teams interested in Bill Cowher if he actually becomes available. Early rumors have suggested that the Carolina Panthers and the Cleveland Browns could be options for Cowher. Depending on whether the Dallas Cowboys are able to turn their season around, Jerry Jones may attempt to bring Cowher in to get the franchise back on track.

I think Bill Cowher would be an excellent choice to coach the Cleveland Browns next season! Mangini just doesn’t seem to know how to build off wins against the Saints and the Patriots! He can find ways to beat the Pats and the Saints, but he can’t beat the teams he’s SUPPOSED to beat? That doesn’t bode well for his already terrible job security! And he only lasted for three seasons in New York before he was let go by the Jets, and had only one playoff berth in that time span! Cowher on the other hand KNOWS not only how to win the games his teams are supposed to win, but he’s also been to the top of the mountain in the NFL, the Super Bowl, and won it all! HE KNOWS WHAT IT TAKES TO GET THERE! I would love to see him GO BACK TO HIS ROOTS in Cleveland, and get the Browns to the playoffs consistently almost every year, and someday soon bring a CHAMPIONSHIP back to Cleveland!
