The Buffalo Bills announced Wednesday night that theyโve hired former Ravens S Ed Reed as their assistant defensive backs coach.
โEd Reed is going to be such a great asset to our team,โ said head coach Rex Ryan. โObviously heโs played in this system and been an MVP caliber guy in this system. Heโs going to be such a great asset for players. Heโs a real student of the game as well and heโs going to be a phenomenal coach.โ
โHaving spent time with Ed in Baltimore and then New York โ I can attest to the incredibly high level of professionalism he is going to bring with him to Buffalo,โ said Ryan. โHeโs going to teach guys how he studies film, bring the guys along and add so much in that way.โ
The Bills have been making changes to their coaching staff since the season ended, including bringing in Rex Ryanโs brother, Rob, to help with their defense.
Reed was a very successful player, who will be enshrined in the Hall of Fame in the coming years. He brings plenty of credibility and experience to the Billsโ coaching staff.
It will be interesting to see what heโs able to do with the opportunity.
