Bills Hire Ed Reed As Assistant DBs Coach

The Buffalo Bills announced Wednesday night that theyโ€™ve hired former Ravens S Ed Reed as their assistant defensive backs coach.

โ€œEd Reed is going to be such a great asset to our team,โ€ said head coach Rex Ryan. โ€œObviously heโ€™s played in this system and been an MVP caliber guy in this system. Heโ€™s going to be such a great asset for players. Heโ€™s a real student of the game as well and heโ€™s going to be a phenomenal coach.โ€

โ€œHaving spent time with Ed in Baltimore and then New York โ€“ I can attest to the incredibly high level of professionalism he is going to bring with him to Buffalo,โ€ said Ryan. โ€œHeโ€™s going to teach guys how he studies film, bring the guys along and add so much in that way.โ€

The Bills have been making changes to their coaching staff since the season ended, including bringing in Rex Ryanโ€™s brother, Rob, to help with their defense.

Reed was a very successful player, who will be enshrined in the Hall of Fame in the coming years. He brings plenty of credibility and experience to the Billsโ€™ coaching staff.

It will be interesting to see what heโ€™s able to do with the opportunity.
