Report: Bills Meeting With Ken Whisenhunt

Jason Cole reports that the Bills are having dinner with former Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt.

Jason La Canfora adds that Buffalo will meet with Cardinals DC Ray Horton on Wednesday and could even set something up with Oregon HC Chip Kelly at some point

Numerous reports have Whisenhunt as the Bills’ preferred option. There are still expected to meet with a number of candidates, but there’s a chance that something could come together in the near future.

The Buffalo Bills have been very busy today.

The team has made the decision to retain GM Buddy Nix for another season and has hired Russ Brandon to be their new president, according to Albert Breer. Bills owner Ralph Wilson is reportedly willing to give up controlling the team and shift that responsibility to Brandon, according to Tim Graham of the Buffalo News.

Graham reports that a league source has informed him that new Bills president Russ Brandon is “fond” of former Cardinals HC Ken Whisenhunt and would “like the opportunity to land him” as the Bills’ next head coach.

Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton and Syracuse coach Doug Marrone are expected to interview for the job. Former Bears head coach Lovie Smith is also reportedly interested in the position, so we’ll have to see where things stand following the interviews.
