Bills LB Tony Steward announced via his Twitter account Tuesday that he’s being waived by the team.
Extremely grateful to the Bills organization for the opportunity they gave me. Looking forward to the next chapter.
— Tony Steward (@Tony_theTiger7) April 19, 2016
Steward, 23, was taken in the sixth round of last year’s NFL draft. He is in the second year of his four-year, $2,403,828 rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.
He’ll have to pass through waivers unclaimed before he can sign on with a team of his choosing.
In 2015, Steward appeared in seven games for the Bills and recorded two tackles. Buffalo later placed Steward on season-ending injured reserve with a back injury.
