Albert Breer of NFL Media is reporting that the Eagles have signedย Eagles DE Vinny Curry to a five-year deal worth $47.25 million.
- Breer adds that the contract includes $23 million guaranteed.
Recent reports have said that addressing Curry’s contract was likely the next move for Philadelphia, so this doesn’t come as a huge surprise.
This is the fourth contract extension signed by an Eagles’ player in the past few weeks afterย TE Zach Ertz,ย TE Brent Celekย andย OT Lane Johnsonย all received new deals.
Curry, 27, was taken in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft.ย He has played out his four-year, $3,381,832 rookie contract and was in position to test the open market in the next few months.
Curry appears to have done pretty well securing close to $10 million per year in his next contract.
In 2015, Curry appeared in all 16 games and recorded 12 tackles and 3.5 sacks for the Eagles.
