Kimberly A. Martin reports that Redskins rookie RBย Derrius Guice suffered a torn ACL during Thursday’s preseason game.
This is terrible news for Guice and Washington, as this will end his 2018 season and lead to him being placed on season-ending injured reserve in the coming days.
Earlier this morning, a report mentioned thatย the initialย diagnosis forย Guice was that he had a sprained MCL, but anย MRI showed that the injury was worse than anticipated.
Guice, 21, was selected with the second round of this year’s draft by the Redskins.ย According to OverTheCap.com, Guice signed a four-year, $4,541,936 contract that includes a $1,383,224 signing bonus.
During his three-year college career at LSU, Guice rushed for 3,074 yards on 471 carries (6.5 YPC) to go along with 32 receptions for 250 yards receiving 32 total touchdowns over the course 35 games.
