Broncos C Dan Koppen Suffers Torn ACL

Jeff Legwold of the Denver Post reports that Broncos center Dan Koppen did in fact suffer a torn ACL during the team’s Sunday practice.

Denver signed Koppen to a one-year contract worth $915,000 last month. Clearly, they were looking to add some addition depth at center seeing as Manny Ramirez, Philip Blake, and Quentin Saulsberry made up their interior line depth. Given that this is such a serious injury and the fact that Koppen is currently 34-years-old, there’s at least a chance that this could be career-ending.

The Broncos also lost J.D. Walton for the season due to an ankle injury, so we’ll have to see if they bring in some free agents for workouts this week.
