Broncos RB Justin Forsett Considering Retirement

Broncos RB Justin Forsett tells James Palmer that he’s going into the offseason with the intention of evaluating his future and weighing the possibility of retiring from the NFL.

Forsett, 31, was actually among the team’s roster cuts coming out of the preseason but he later signed a nearly identical contract with the Ravens right before the start of the regular season. He received a two-year, $6 million contract from the Ravens but was released during the season.

The Ravens will still owe Forsett his $3 million base salary because he’s a vested veteran who was on their roster to open the year.

The Lions later signed Forsett to a contract back in October but elected to cut him loose a few months ago. Forsett wound up being claimed off of waivers by the Broncos and finished out the year in Denver.

In 2016, Forsett has rushed for 291 yards on 87 carries (3.3 YPC) to go along with 20 receptions for 85 yards receiving and one touchdown over the course of nine games.
