Broncos Working Out RBs Including Mikel Leshoure

Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that the Denver Broncos are working out a number of free agent running back on Tuesday including former Lions RB Mikel Leshoure.

Denver is expected to be without Montee Ball for close to three weeks following a groin injury he suffered during Sunday’s win over the Arizona Cardinals. As of now, the Broncos are expected to move forward with Ronnie Hillman, C.J. Anderson, and Juwan Thompson, but they could always bring in some extra depth if they have any reservations about this group.

Leshoure, 24, is a former second-round pick of the Lions, who was among the team’s final roster cuts a few months ago.

Since being waived, Leshoure has worked out for the Colts, but there has been minimal interest overall.

In 2013, he appeared in just three games and totaled only two carries for nine yards. The year before that Leshoure ran for 798 yards on 215 carries (3.7 YPC) and scored nine touchdowns.
