Browns Have Agreed Part Ways With Assistant GM Eliot Wolf

Update:

According to Tom Pelissero, the Browns and assistant GM Eliot Wolf have, in fact, agreed to part ways on Wednesday. Pelissero expects Wolf to be a “hot commodity” as a free agent executive.

Chris Mortensen says that the new Browns regime made an attempt to persuade Wolf to stay.

Chris Mortensen is now reporting that the Browns and assistant GM Eliot Wolf have not officially agreed to part ways and there is an ongoing discussion about whether Wolf stays or goes under the current setup.

Chris Mortensen is reporting that the Browns have also agreed to part with assistant GM Eliot Wolf on Wednesday along with VP of player personnel Alonzo Highsmith

New Browns GM Andrew Berry is clearly looking to overhaul the team’s front office as they move in a new direction from the John Dorsey regime.

Some thought Wolf could stay on even with the change at GM, but it appears as though both parties felt it was best to move on. It would not be surprising to see Wolf land a new job in the near future.

Wolf, 37, is the son of former Packers GM Ron Wolf. He started off as a pro personnel assistant for the Packers in 2004 and worked his way up to director of football operations in 2016.

After the Packers hired Brian Gutekunst as their GM, Wolf departed for the assistant GM job under John Dorsey.

Wolf has previously come up as a GM candidate.
