Browns GM John Dorsey Says Odell Beckham Trade Rumors Are “Fake News”

A recent internet report said the Browns were listening to trade offers for WR Odell Beckham Jr.

However, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that this can be filed under the “not-going-to-happen” category.

In fact, Browns general manager John Dorsey tells Schefter of the report: “That’s fake news.

Dorsey added that they have not taken any trade calls on Beckham and they are not interested in discussing potential deals for him leading up to this year’s deadline.

Beckham, 26, was taken with the No. 12 overall pick by the Giants back in 2014. He was set to make a base salary of $8,459,000 for the 2018 season when he agreed to a new five-year extension worth up to $95 million and includes $65 million in total guarantees.

The Giants traded Beckham to the Browns this offseason for the No. 17 overall pick, their second third-round pick and S Jabrill Peppers.

Beckham stands to make base salaries of $16.75 million and $14 million over the next two years.

In 2019, Beckham has appeared in five games for the Browns and caught 23 passes for 335 yards receiving and one touchdown. He has also rushed for 15 yards.
