Browns Holding A QB Competition Next Year?

Browns President Mike Holmgren showed some reservation about the idea of committing to Colt McCoy next season.

“My opinion of Colt hasn’t changed,” said Holmgren. “He can be, could be [a franchise quarterback]. But I’m not ready to anoint Colt yet.”

Holmgren made the indication that McCoy will face some competition for the teams starting job next season.

Whether that’s Seneca Wallace or another rookie quarterback like Robert Griffin III remains to be seen but the team would be doing the right thing by going with the player that gives them the best shot at winning games next season.
