Browns & Eagles Interested In Penn State HC Bill O’Brien?

Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that both the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles have Penn State head coach Bill O’Brien on theirย shortlist of possible head coach replacements.

O’Brien finished a successful year that included being named Big Ten Coach of the Year in his first season with a reeling Penn State program. Several NFLย teamsย reportedlyย have their eye onย O’Brien.

O’Brien was apparently under the assumption thatย the Jerry Sandusky scandal was just a legal issue and wouldn’t come with extraย penalties from the NCAA, but that obviously wasn’t the case.

It’s worth noting thatย O’Brien has a $9 millionย buyout in his currentย contract, which could really be an issue for NFL teams that are considering him as a potential replacement.
