Browns Interested In Trading For Chiefs S Eric Berry?

Art Stapleton is hearing rumors that Browns GM John Dorsey could be making an attempt to trade for Chiefs S Eric Berry.

Stapleton mentions that he would normally ignore these rumors, but after the Browns acquired Odell Beckham Jr last year, itโ€™s at least something to keep an eye on.

Dorsey previously worked for the Chiefs and knows Berry well. Plus, the Browns are now in the market for a safety after they traded Jabrill Peppers to the Giants.

Berry, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2010. He worked his way back from Hodgkinโ€™s lymphoma and managed to produce an impressive 2015 season.

Berry played out his rookie contract with the team before receiving the teamโ€™s franchise tag last year. However, the two parties ultimately agreed to a new six-year, $78 million contract that includes $29.8 million guaranteed.

Berry stands to make base salaries of $12.4 million and $9.4 million over the next two years.

In 2018, Berry appeared in two games and recorded 11 tackles and no interceptions for the Chiefs.
