Browns Moving On From DC Gregg Williams

Dan Graziano and Pat McManamon are reporting that the Browns have relieved DC Gregg Williams of his duties and he’s no longer a member of the team’s coaching staff.

Williams actually interviewed for the head-coaching job, but the Browns elected to hire Freddieย Kitchens on Wednesday.

Williams, 60, has worked for several NFL teams over the course of his career including the Oilers/Titans, Bills, Redskins, Jaguars, Saints, and Rams before the Browns hired him as their defensive coordinator for the 2017 season.

After the Browns fired Hue Jackson, Williams was elevated to interim head coach.

Under Williams, the Browns went 5-3 this season.
