Browns Now Hoping To Keep Peyton Hillis?

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that a league source has informed her that the Browns have changed their minds about Peyton Hillis and are now expected to attempt to re-sign him.

The report mentions that Hillis โ€œworked his way back into the teamโ€™s good gracesโ€ with his performance at the end of the season. Despite the change of opinion, Cleveland is still believed to only be interested โ€œat the right priceโ€ which was their stance earlier in the season before talks broke down.

Hillisโ€™ poor decisions largely impacted the teamโ€™s willingness to negotiate a deal but the two sides were reportedly far apart in regards to the contract totals. At just 26, Hillis would help stabilize their running game next season but heโ€™ll have to dramatically lower his asking price to remain in Cleveland. At least itโ€™s a possibility now.

  1. The Cleveland Browns could learn something from MLB teams issues with Milton Bradley..A good amount of talent is there, but the maturity level just doesnโ€™t match. If I were a GM I wouldnโ€™t sign him to be anything more than a second back, maybe by committee and let him try to prove himself as a stable person/teammate.. That being said, I think San Fran would be a great fit if they are truly wanting to lessen Gores load and with a coach like Harbaugh maybe Hillis could rebuild on a one year deal then grab one more good contract next offseason
