The Cleveland Browns announced Monday that they’ve placed TE David Njoku on injured reserve with a knee injury.
Other roster moves for the Browns:
- Browns promoted K Cody Parkey to their active roster. (NFLTR)
- Browns waived K Austin Seibert.
It’s worth mentioning that the NFL changed the rules regarding injured reserve for the 2020 season and players can return from the list in just three weeks.
Njoku requested a trade of Cleveland this summer before changing his mind.
Njoku, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Browns back in 2017. He’s entering the fourth year of his four-year, $9.5 contract and stands to make a base salary of $1.76 million for the 2020 season.
The Browns picked up Njoku’s fifth-year option back in April that will cost them roughly $6 million for the 2021 season.
In 2020, Njoku has appeared in one game for the Browns and caught three passes for 50 yards receiving and one touchdown.
