The Cleveland Browns announced that they’ve re-signed S Justin Currie to their practice squad and released WR Rannell Hall from the unit.
The Browns’ practice squad now consists of:
- DB C.J. Smith
- WR Bug Howard
- LB Austin Calitro
- OT Andrew Wylie
- OT Victor Salako
- OT Korren Kirven
- RB Josh Rounds
- WR Kasen Williams
- DB Jacob Hagen
- S Justin Currie
Currie, 23, signed on with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Western Michigan back in 2015. However, the Giants waived him with an injury designation and spent his entire rookie season on the injury reserve list.
After the Giants once again cut Currie loose at the start of the 2016 season, the Browns signed him to their practice squad. Currie returned to Cleveland on a future/reserve contract but was waived with an injury designation at the start of the season.
The Browns later signed him to a contract a few weeks ago only to cut him loose soon after.
During his college career at Western Michigan, Currie recorded 340 tackles, nine sacks, five interceptions, three forced fumbles and 15 pass defenses.
