The Cleveland Browns announced Friday that they’ve re-signed S Trae Elston to their practice squad now that he’s cleared waivers.
The Browns’ practice squad now consists of:
- WR Josh Boyce
- WR Jordan Leslie
- DB Darius Hillary
- TE Connor Hamlett
- OT Zach Sterup
- DL Trevon Coley
- S Justin Currie
- LB James Burgess
- TE J.P. Holtz
- S Trae Elston
Elston, 22, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss back in May. He was unfortunately waived coming out of the preseason but signed on to the Buccaneers’ practice squad in October.
The Buccaneers cut Elston loose a month later and he just signed on with the Browns a few weeks ago. Cleveland cut him loose earlier in the week to make room for CB Trey Caldwell.
During his college career, Elston appeared in 50 games and recorded 252 tackles, 34 pass defenses, four interceptions, 11 tackles for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.
