Browns Sign DT Eli Ankou Off Jaguars’ PS, Release RB Elijah McGuire

The Cleveland Browns announced Tuesday that they’ve signed DT Eli Ankou off of the Jaguars‘ practice squad.

The Browns also signed LB Montrel Meander to their practice squad and released RB Elijah McGuire from the unit.

Ankou, 25, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA back in 2017. He spent just over four months in Houston before he was waived at the start of the regular season and later claimed by the Jaguars.

Jacksonville cut Ankou loose coming out of the preseason this past August and later re-signed him to their practice squad.

For his carer, Ankou has appeared in 11 games and recorded 19 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
