Browns head coach Pat Shurmur announced Thursday that rookie running back Trent Richardson will play Sunday against the Eagles, per Scott Petrak.
“Browns Shurmur said RB Richardson has experienced no setbacks in return. Expected to play Sunday in opener,” tweeted Petrak.
Richardson will practice in full-pads Thursday, a sign that he will start on Sunday. It’s great news the Browns, who could use all the help on offense that they can get. It’s still hard to say what kind of workload Richardson will be given this weekend, but at least they will have their best weapon available.
