While his career has been significantlyย impacted by his knee injury,ย Ekpre-Olomu reportedly took outย a $3 million insurance policy during his senior year in case of injury.
Ekpre-Olomu, 22, was taken in theย seventh round of last year’s draft by the Browns. He is in the second year of hisย four-year, $2,337,300 rookie contractย and stands to make a base salary ofย $525,000 for the 2016 season.
Ekpre-Olomu was a star at Oregon before he sustained a torn ACL and a dislocated knee, which led to himย spending hisย entire rookie seasonย on the non-football injury list.
During his four-year career at Oregon, Ekpre-Olomu recorded 244 tackles, 6.5 sacks, nine interceptions, and eight forced fumbles.
