The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have claimed veteran DT Sealver Siliga off of waivers from the Seahawks on Wednesday, according toย his agent David Canter.
- Greg Auman reports that the Buccaneers are waiving rookieย DE Channing Ward to make room for Siliga.
Siliga, 26, wound up signing on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Utah back in 2011. He lasted just a few months with the 49ers before signing on with the Broncos and later being traded to the Seahawks for G John Moffitt. Seattle elected to waive Siliga a few months later before he signed to the Patriots’ practice squad.
The Patriots didn’t tender Siliga a restricted offer, which allowed him to testย the market as an unrestrictedย free agent. The Seahawks signed him to a contract back in March before putting him on injured reserveย and later cutting him loose coming out of the preseason.
The Seahawks signed him to a contract close to a month ago before cutting him loose on Tuesday.
In 2016, Siliga has appeared in four games for the Seahawks and recorded five tackles and no sacks.
