The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that they waived/injuredย LBย James-Michael Johnson on Tuesday.
Beyond that, the Buccaneers released TE Cameron Brate, WR Kaelin Clay and G Martin Wallace from their practice squad.
Johnson, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Browns back in 2012.ย He has one year remaining on hisย four-year, $2.52 million rookie contractย and stands to make a base salary ofย $660,000 for the 2015 season.
He spent one year in Cleveland before he was cut and later claimed off of waivers by the Chiefs.ย Since then, Johnson has played for the Buccaneers and the Bengals before returning to the Chiefs.
The Buccaneers wound up claiming him off of waivers just a few weeks ago, so his stay was short lived.
In 2014, Johnson appeared in all 16 games for the Chiefs and recorded 51 tackles, a forced fumble and a pass defense.
