Buccaneers Intend To Make A “Big Splash” HC Hire

A league source tells Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that the Buccaneers “fully intend to make a big splash with their next hire.”

David Haugh of 670 The Score recently reported that the Buccaneers are willing to pay $10 million per year to their next head coach.

Florio mentions that possible candidates for the Buccaneers’ job could include Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh, Baylor HC Matt Rhule and former Cardinals HC Bruce Arians. Florio even wonders if recently retired Ohio State HC Urban Meyer could consider a return to Florida.

Of the names mentioned, Arians seems like the one that would make the most sense.

He has ties to Buccaneers GM Jason Licht and has said he’d consider the opportunity.

The list of reported interviews for the Buccaneers includes:

  1. Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy (Interviewed)
  2. Vikings DC George Edwards (Interviewed)
  3. Former Cardinals HC Bruce Arians (Interviewed)
  4. Cowboys passing game coordinator/DBs coach Kris Richard (Scheduled)
  5. Notre Dame HC Brian Kelly (Interested?)

We’ll have more regarding the Buccaneers as the news is available.
