The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that they have placed TE Cameron Brate and WR Justin Watson on the PUP list. The team has also signed TE De’Quan Hampton to a contract.
Brate, 30, signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Harvard back in 2014. He was on and off of their active roster during the first two years in the NFL and had a brief stint with the Saints before returning to the Buccaneers in 2015.
Tampa Bay signed Brate to a six-year, $41 million contract in 2018 that included $18 million guaranteed. He later agreed to rework the deal back in April.
In 2020, Brate appeared in all 16 games for the Buccaneers and caught 28 passes for 282 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
Watson, 25, was a fifth-round pick by the Buccaneers out of Penn back in 2018. He signed a four-year rookie deal with the team worth $2,761,736 that included a signing bonus of $301,736. He is currently set to become a free agent after the 2021 season.
In 2020, Watson appeared in 11 games for the Buccaneers and made seven receptions for 94 yards.
Hampton, 27, went undrafted back in 2017 out of USC before catching on with the Saints. Unfortunately, he was waived by the team coming out of training camp.
He last played for the Los Angeles Wildcats of the XFL, appearing in four games and recording four receptions for 26 yards and one touchdown.
