Rick Stroud reports that the Buccaneers are placing TE O.J. Howard on injured reserve Tuesday with foot and ankle injuries.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also re-signed DE Demone Harris on Tuesday, according to Greg Auman.
Howard, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2017. He signed a four-year, $11.094 million contract that included a $6.208 million signing bonus and he stands to make base salaries of $1.47 million and $1.47 million over the next two years.
Howard’s contract includes a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2020.
In 2018, Howard appeared in 10 games for the Buccaneers and caught 34 passes for 565 yards receiving and five touchdowns.
Harris, 22, wound up signing on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Buffalo back in May. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract but was waived by the Buccaneers coming out of the preseason.
Harris was later added to the team’s practice squad before being promoted last month. Unfortunately, the Bucs cut him loose last week.
In 2018, Harris has been active for two games, but has yet to record a statistic.
