Tampa Bay had signed Love a couple of weeks ago but it doesn’t look like he’ll make the final roster.
Given the NFL’s changed eligibility rules for the practice squad due to COVID-19 this year, it’s possible Love could be brought back to the practice squad, though.
Love, 33, wound up signing on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State back in 2010. After three years in New England, Love had brief stints with the Jaguars and Chiefs before eventually catching on with the Panthers in 2014.
The Panthers re-signed him to a two-year contract for the 2017 season and he returned to Carolina last year.
In 2019, Love appeared in eight games for the Panthers and recorded eight tackles, no sacks and a pass defense.
