The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially released TE Troy Niklas from injured reserve with a settlement on Tuesday.
Niklas, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $4,023,298 contract and made a base salary of $968,631 for the 2017 season.
Niklas signed with the Patriots to a one-year deal back in April of last year but was cut loose after a few months. The Buccaneers signed him to a contract only to place him on injured reserve last week.
In 2017, Niklas appeared in 15 games for the Cardinals and caught 11 passes for 132 yards receiving and one touchdown.
