Buccaneers Releasing RB Jeff Demps From Practice Squad

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the Buccaneers are releasing RB Jeff Demps from their practice squad on Monday.

Demps, 24, signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Florida back in 2012. However, he was later traded to the Buccaneers in a deal that sent RB LeGarrette Blount to the Patriots in return for Demps and a 2013 seventh-round pick.

Unfortunately for Demps, he was unable to make the Buccaneers’ final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and was placed on waivers. Demps later signed on to Tampa Bay’s practice squad.

He has yet to appear in a game this season, but he was active for two games last year.
