Michael Bush
Ira Kaufman of the Tampa Tribune writes that Raiders RB Michael Bush could be an โintriguingโ option for the Buccaneers
Tampa Bay has already said that they plan to spend more money in free agency this year and the running back position needs to be addressed. Weโve also heard Mike Tolbertโs name get mentioned as a possibility for the team.
Whatโs interesting about these two speculative options is that, both of them are larger running backs that can be used in short-yardage situation but isnโt that what LeGarrette Blount should be used for? If he canโt catch passes out to the backfield and has a hard time picking up short-yardage, than what does he do exactly?
Tolbert would be a great addition to almost any team but whoever they choose to bring in will ultimately determine what role Blount will have next season.
The St. Petersburg Times reports that Tampa Bay Buccaneers will likely place a second-round tender DE Michael Bennett
Bennett will be a restricted-free agent in the coming weeks, hence why the Bucโs will be placing a tender on him, but heโs most likely the teamโs #1 priority when it comes to their own players.
Last year Bennett actually started over rookie DaโQuan Bowers and his versatility makes him even more important to young defense. The report mentions that Bennett could get a salary of $1.9 million for the 2012.
